the fairy-lights work well again in that last panel, nice and dramatic.
The Boss being mentioned as missing for a long time feels like an important point to me! I imagine probably only he’d grasp the value of what Asha did, getting a Martyr from a Vailtower all the way to their faction. It’s possible that’s an incredible asset Asha doesn’t realise she’s just brought them. Alternatively he’ll maybe carry a lot of plotpower in his wake, and want to begin an important mission for the rebels as soon as he’s back. But his absence is palpable!
I’d basically glossed over in my mind that Asha still thinks Fiadh was a ransom! By the looks of his reaction, Fiadh glossed it over too, haha, that face is the look of sudden realisation. Or “oh shit i finally gotta do it now”.
How he swells up and says his final goodbye, now he finally has to do it, is pretty romantic! Not lovey romantic I mean but romanticism romantic. Basically like saying “I had the time of my life, I’ll never forget you, let’s part on good terms”. The facade’s up and Fiadh knows it, so no more point disguising it, just to say thank you for helping him (while she didn’t know she was).
