I’m left feeling much more confused, and with many more questions.

Ragnait/Fiadh’s Mother made a fatal flaw in thinking he’d be raised to know the context of this, and so too the readers following his POV. I suppose Asha finding him interrupted that fate, so he found this letter before that could happen.
I feel as though I’d opened the first page of a hidden plotline now, that I had no idea happened in the background.

It’s quite the opposite of anything I’d expected. Maybe I expected it would be Tragic or filled with absent Love, instead there’s a realisation something sinister happened with the Cradle church for Fiadh to be born, and she hated and blamed him wholly for it.

I can’t imagine how Fiadh would react to this, it’s a lot to take in! Sudden mystery and dissapointment and absurdity, it’s the opposite of what he’d been hoping to find, even if she weren’t alive anymore. No answers, more questions, and the answers to those questions are the opposite of any rational hopes he had. That the person he sought is both no longer there and blamed him for something he has no idea of. It’s so intriguing!
